The Commercial Real Estate (CRE) group at J.P. Agency and Off-Balance Sheet Lending (OBS) is an Agency lending platform, providing term lending solutions to Multifamily borrowers through Government Sponsored Enterprises. OBS provides CRE lending products which effectively match investor capital with borrower needs. The OBS product line is designed to meet CRE borrower needs and meet firm-wide objectives, affordable housing, balance sheet liquidity, etc.
As an Analyst in the Agency program you will receive a valuable experience in Commercial Real Estate as well as knowledge of Commercial Banking as a whole.
The program provides you with the ability to develop a strong foundation of analytical skills needed for a successful career in Commercial Real Estate. You'll work with real estate professionals on a team, drawing from the full spectrum of the firm's resources to develop customized financial solutions to meet client needs, with our Agency Lending Team to provide support to our clients and gain exposure to Agency Lending professionals.
Upon successful completion of the Agency Analyst Program you may be promoted to Associate.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform financial modeling & risk grading to support transactions
- Prepare marketing materials for use in client meetings (covering topics such as financing alternatives and industry / market trends & analysis)
- Conduct Sponsorship & guarantor analysis
- Assist in the completion of credit approval memos.
- Support Screening teams with ad-hoc requests, loan sizing, and market research.
- Develop an understanding of Multifamily Agency lending and Government-Sponsored Agencies
- Maintain loan file, applicable checklists, and any documents required.
- Review and analyze items received to ensure file is accurately documented.
- Manage all aspects of the underwriting and closing of transactions by working closely with Insurance, KYC and Legal to ensure all required information is completed.
- Understanding and completing required credit checks applicable to the Firm, Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac.
- Coordinate with the borrowers, underwriters, legal and bankers to obtain necessary due diligence required for loan file.
Required Qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor Degree completion in 2023 or 2024
- 1+ years of full time work experience in real estate finance
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative work environment
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Preferred GPA of 3.2
- Previous work experience in commercial real estate lending
