The Position:
Under the direction of the Director, Enterprise Risk Management, the Insurance Manager will perform a variety of analytic and administrative functions for the construction companies that make up the Walbec Group. This role will collaborate with internal Contract, Legal, Safety and Claims teams on insurance and risk management programs. Additionally, this position will coordinate project activities, analyze, organize and communicate risk-related information to help define risk exposures and appropriate insurance coverage to support operations.
- Procure Manage and administer corporate property and casualty insurance programs as well as Cyber Risk, Management Liability and Environmental Liability insurance.
- Manage insurance strategy with brokers including approval of submissions and negotiation of coverage terms and premiums.
- Lead the compilation and development of underwriting data for annual renewal and audit of all insurance programs in coordination with the Insurance Analyst. Manage and communicate data updates throughout the policy year as needed.
- Provide direction to broker, insurers, third party administrators and defense attorneys. Partner with claims, legal and insurance companies for insurance program improvements.
- Edit and negotiate contract terms with project GCs and owners and oversee risk transfer in subcontracts/vendor agreements.
- Procure appropriate contract specific insurance coverages to comply with contract insurance requirements, Joint Venture bids, Builders Risk insurance and accompanying certificates of insurance (approximately 2,500 issued per year).
- Provide insurance forecasts and financial reports; analyze annual insurance premiums, exposures and financial performance of insurance programs.
- Administer Owner Controlled Insurance Program enrollments and ongoing paperwork (WI DOT, IKEA, Deer District, Etc.) in collaboration with the payroll department.
- Assist with management of corporate surety program coordinating with internal teams and management of broker and underwriter relationships to facilitate timely delivery of project-specific bonds. Interface with the broker and surety underwriter with Walbec legal on bond issues and claims.

The Candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in insurance, Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, Legal or Paralegal, or similar program.
- At least three years of experience in insurance, risk management or related fields.
- Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office suite and RMIS database systems.
- Ability to read, understand and interpret contract and insurance documents and forms.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work with staff at all levels, both internal and external.
- Strong sense of urgency; good time management and organizational skills.
- Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record.
