Agile Product Owner

Overview:
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Product Owner to collaborate with and support our Scaled Agile software development teams. The ideal candidate has at least three to five years of experience capturing stakeholder business needs and translating them into the appropriate requirement artifacts and technical solutions e.g., product features, user stories, epics, and wire frames. The ideal candidate would also have experience working with solutions developed for clinical research, health information or government IT industry
Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities:
Collaborate with product business owners and managers directly to elicit, translate, and document business requirements in the format of product epics, features, user stories and acceptance criteria.
Review and analyze clinical trial systems and business processes to identify areas of enhancement, integration, and innovation
Coordinate and facilitate elicitation and requirement review meetings with external business stakeholders and product teams.
Utilize agile best practices to build requirements and stories that support consistent incremental delivery of Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and phased product solutions.
Assist product manager and owners with the refinement, grooming and prioritization of product and team backlogs.
Actively participate in the Agile ceremonies to contribute to Program Increment (PI) success.
Assist with the development of User Interface (UI) design specifications i.e. wire-frames, storyboards and Use Case diagrams.
Assist with the development and delivery of system demos and client-focused documentation for product solutions.
Assist with automated and manual testing of product functionality to validate whether the requirements have been met and to ensure that the desired state has been reached
Assist with user acceptance testing and post-production support i.e., product training and help desk.
Qualifications:
Must Have Technical Skills/Knowledge:
Proficient understanding of Agile/Scrum software development framework
Experience using Atlassian tools i.e., Jira, Confluence, BitBucket, Bamboo
Proficient with Microsoft Office products
Proficient with requirements elicitation, analysis, and validation techniques
Must Have Non-Technical Skills:
Excellent written, communication and presentation skills
Effective problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Proficient organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work remotely using reliable and secure equipment.
Ability to effectively collaborate with remote teams in a fast-paced, matrixed environment and achieve results.
Ability to manage and shift priorities as needed to meet stakeholders need.
Ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholder groups and bring to a consensus.
Ability to travel to Rockville, Shady Grove, MD office for client meeting and as on need basis.
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelors degree or higher in a technology, healthcare or clinical research related field or equivalent work experience
Minimum 5 years business analyst or product owner experience in an SAFe Agile software development environment
Preferred Skills:
Professional Certifications i.e. CCBA, CBAP, PMP, Product Owner or Scrum Master
Understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), 21 CFR Part 11 and other clinical research regulations/standards
Experience with using web conferencing and portal technologies (e.g. WebEx, SharePoint)
