Agriculture Equipment Technician - Gpac

We are currently in search of a skilled farm equipment mechanic who thrives in both independent and team settings. This position involves traveling to diverse client sites to perform on-the-spot repairs in the field and retrieving equipment for necessary repairs. We are looking for candidates willing to be on call after hours two to five times per month, possessing a solid understanding of various farm equipment used in different operations. Job Responsibilities:

• Travel to client sites to conduct field repairs on farm equipment using the appropriate tools and equipment.
• Coordinate the transportation of extensively damaged equipment to the nearest facility for assignment to a specialized repair team.
• Maintain detailed records of shop supplies, tools used, and labor hours for both personal work and the team.
• Supervise a team of three to four technicians, overseeing repairs on dairy equipment, irrigation systems, and other machinery requiring collaborative efforts.
• Provide 24-hour coverage for service calls during on-call duty periods, ensuring timely response to client needs.
• Offer daytime support to on-call mechanics handling repair jobs that require additional assistance.
• Participate in location-based repair teams, servicing equipment brought in by on-call farm equipment mechanics at client work sites.

Job Skills & Qualifications:

Required:

• Small engine repair certification
• Diesel engine repair certification
• Hydraulic systems repair certification
• Commercial driver’s license – Class C

Preferred:

• Two or more years of experience in farm equipment repair
• Associate’s degree in a field related to agriculture
