GHD has a great opportunity for an Air Quality Permitting Director & a Senior Air Quality Consultant to join our Environmental team.
Air Quality Permitting Director to be based out of any of our Mid-Continent Region offices.
Air Quality Consultant can be based in most of our Northeast regional office locations.
Air Quality Permitting Director Responsibilities:
Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Provide strategic direction for growing the environmental compliance area in the Gulf Coast market, focusing on sectors like petrochemicals, manufacturing, and technology.
- Identify and support new business opportunities with current clients and prospective clients by leading technical proposals and actively engaging in the client experience.
- Develop tactical plans to expand the client base and deliver to a diversified client portfolio.
- Develop and manage a team of air quality engineers with a focus on project delivery.
- Work with clients and colleagues to meet deadlines on outstanding and ambitious projects.
- Manage multiple air quality projects spanning a variety of teams including: air quality permitting, dispersion modeling, emissions reporting, regulatory compliance, audits, and more.
- Communicate complex regulatory issues and concepts to technical and non-technical clients and project teams.
- Support air quality compliance management in multiple industries, including chemical/petro-chem, refining, upstream and midstream oil and gas, electrical utility, petroleum refining, and manufacturing.
- Supervise and mentor staff in technical and interpersonal matters.
What you will bring to the team:
- B.S. degree in Environmental Engineering, Science or a related field; M.S. preferred.
- Minimum 15+ years of air quality permitting and compliance experience; consulting experience preferred.
- Knowledge of air quality rules, regulations and agency structure in Louisiana and surrounding states.
- Experience with initial applications, renewals and revisions for variety of permitting mechanisms, including, but not limited to: Title V, NSR, NNSR, PSD, GHG, Standard Permit, and Permits by Rule.
- Ability to effectively communicate with other technical specialists, clients, and regulatory officials in person and in writing.
- Capable of leading and directing the work of teams while maintaining budgets and meeting deadlines.
- Significant experience in Louisiana and Texas is preferred.
