About the Job
Amentum is currently seeking a qualified Aircraft Logs and records technician in support of the U.S Naval Air Station maintenance operations at NAS Whidbey Island. Performs aviation maintenance administration requirements in support of the activity's assigned aircraft, engines, ALSS, support equipment and flight designated personnel.
**Essential Responsibilities:**
Maintains aircraft and engine logbooks and associated records. Performs operator, data entry and retrieval functions associated with aircraft record-keeping. Performs networking functions between individual stations, including analysis and correction of errors caused by software, hardware or data entry. Transmits and receive data via floppy disk, modem and other electronic means. Extracts data, formulate and interpret management reports, create archives, backups, and data saves in support of military deployments and detachment operations. Performs a wide range of clerical and administrative duties related to aircraft maintenance, such as preparing reports and correspondence, filing and typing, performing database and systems analysis.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
**Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:**
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ Minimum three (3) years of job-related experience or equivalent.
+ Requires knowledge of computer operating software programs.
+ Selected candidates will be required to hold this job position for one year.
+ Selected employee must be able to lift 45 ponds
+ Site Whidbey performs maintenance on multiple shifts, employee must be willing to work assigned shifts.
+ Selected employee must have a good working knowledge of aircraft logbooks, and aeronautical equipment service records (AESR).
+ Selected employee must have a good working knowledge of the technical directive (TD) program.
+ Position requires the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance and meet physical requirements associated with and/or pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned task.
+ Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
+ Position requires travel.

**Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:**
Typical office environment with no unusual hazards.
Constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.
