POSITION DESCRIPTION - AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE CONTROLLER
Job Title: Aircraft Maintenance Controller
Reports to: Director of Maintenance
Classification: Exempt
Time Commitment: Full-time
Position Summary
The Aircraft Maintenance Controller ensures the continuous and efficient operation of the company's aircraft fleet by coordinating and overseeing all maintenance activities. This role reports directly to the AIRTEC Director of Maintenance and is responsible for managing maintenance tasks, coordinating vendor support, and organizing shipments between AIRTEC HQ and international sites. The Aircraft Maintenance Controller plays a key role in minimizing aircraft downtime and ensuring operational readiness by maintaining close communication with technicians, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
Essential Functions
Monitoring Aircraft Health:
- Continuously track the status and health of aircraft in real-time using maintenance tracking systems (such as CAMP, Corridor, or equivalent).
- Identify potential maintenance issues based on reports from flight crews, onboard diagnostics, and scheduled maintenance tasks.
Maintenance Coordination:
- Act as a liaison between flight operations, maintenance teams, and external maintenance vendors to coordinate required repairs and inspections.
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely support for aircraft located at various domestic and international sites.
- Prioritize and assign work based on aircraft operational requirements, ensuring minimal impact on flight schedules.
- Ensure prompt action on discrepancies, deferred maintenance, and reported faults.
Logistics Coordination:
- Coordinate shipments of parts, tools, and equipment to and from AIRTEC HQ and other locations, including international sites outside the U.S.
- Work with customs and shipping vendors to ensure all parts and materials arrive on time and comply with import/export regulations.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all maintenance activities are performed in compliance with FAA regulations, company policies, and manufacturer maintenance procedures.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance actions, discrepancies, and corrective actions within the maintenance tracking systems.
- Review maintenance logs and verify proper documentation of completed work.
Communication:
Maintain clear communication with pilots, dispatchers, and flight operations regarding aircraft status and any maintenance-related delays.
