Position Summary:
The Maintenance Manager assists the Maintenance Floor Supervisor in directing and allocating maintenance technicians to projects. Works with Project Managers on workflow status and scheduling. Provides cost estimates to Sales for quoting projects. Provides assistance to shop floor technical requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintains safe, quality, and efficient shop floor operations including the priorities and performance of the department. Provides support for Maintenance Floor Supervisor, by selecting, training, and evaluating all shop floor employees.
- Oversees daily operations of all staff. Implements operational improvements to enhance productivity.
- Monitors and manages technician utilization and efficiency to ensure performance standards are being met. Ensure paperwork and ERP system completion is happening on a daily basis for work performed.
- Monitors and manages departmental costs, including identifying and recording rework situations, and providing corrective action for warranty or rework causes.
- In collaboration with Maintenance Floor Supervisor, defines shop floor projects and assigns authority/responsibility for those projects.
- Provides training and education to staff, including training materials, manuals, and developmental meetings.
- Oversees employee scheduling levels for optimal service, including employee vacation and absence tracking.
- Oversees implementation of department policies and programs through staff.
- Ensures maintenance work on aircraft and components complies with Repair Station procedures and documentation is to be provided to Inspection Department for aircraft return to service.
- Ensure Wipaire’s quality standards are met on all maintenance work.
- Works with Project Fulfillment Manager and Maintenance Floor Supervisor to ensure schedule accuracy and discrepancies are properly communicated.
- Prepares and submits annual budget to Director of Aircraft Services.
- Ensure estimates and costs provided to sales and Project Managers are adhered to, and when there is scope change these new estimates and costs are properly communicated to Project Manager using tools provided.
- Assists Accountable Manager with projects to maintain Repair Station and its recurring requirements, which may include:
- Creating and modifying training documents.
- Assisting in manual changes.
- Performing scheduled audits to ensure Repair Station requirements are being met.
- Performs Service Planning function for the department.
- Works closely with Project Managers to ensure project is executed properly.
- Works with sales department and when required the customer to ensure quoting is meeting customer requirements and is appropriately reflected in the ERP system.
- Makes financial decisions and provides cost control for the Maintenance Department.

Required Experience:
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education, Experience and Credentials
- Two-year Trade school or technical degree in aircraft mechanics or equivalent work experience required.
- A & P Mechanic certification required.
- Five years’ minimum practical aircraft mechanic experience required.
- Three years minimum management or leadership experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of FAA certification processes, including parts, repair processes, drawings, and all applicable compliance requirements. Knowledge of all other applicable local and state laws and regulations.
- Proficient in computer skills, including MS Office, Excel. Able to learn and utilize manufacturers’ software and all available Wipaire software packages.
- Able to make proactive service decisions and move forward with projects based on available information; able to think analytically and select a solution from many alternatives.
- Able to meet FAA regulatory and safety requirements in all aspects of the work.
- Able to maintain high quality standards and attention to detail in all facets of the work. Able to maintain utilization and efficiency standards.

- Must be able to travel nationally and preferably able to travel internationally. Travel on a limited basis for the purposes of trade shows and vendor visits. Travel is minimal and estimated to be less than 5%.
