GLSS is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic III (Avionics) to support on-going efforts at Jacksonville NAS, FL.
Job Descriptions:
Performs aircraft maintenance inspections and scheduled and unscheduled maintenance actions of moderate difficulty to restore aircraft and aircraft systems and components to fully operational status. As required, leads and supervises a team of aircraft maintenance personnel in the prioritization and completion of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance actions on time and to standard.
Duties:
- Utilizes experience to provide technical direction and education to subordinate personnel.
- Provides input to Maintenance Engineering Changes (MEC), Estimated Cost of Damage preparation (ECOD) and assists in the recommendation of changes to MWO.
- The individual is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and modifying aircraft structures and structural components, particularly those of high complexity.
- Also maintains and repairs aircraft components, including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
- Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to determine equipment malfunctions and restore them to a fully mission-capable condition.
- Applies technical expertise to solve complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints or manufacturers' manuals.
- Using comprehensive knowledge of aircraft systems, power plants, sub-systems, and components.
- Performs troubleshooting to determine the functionality of systems and components.
- Performs required repairs and/or replacement using aircraft unique tools and test equipment (torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tension meters, sheet metal, brakes, and sheers, etc.).
Qualifications:
- Must have five or more years of experience performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on fixed or rotary wing aircraft avionics.
- Must have five years or more specialized C-130 aircraft maintenance experience and/or 7 years of E-2 or P-3 fixed-wing propeller aircraft experience.
- Current, active Secret Security Clearance.
- High School Diploma.
