The role
ATP is seeking a skilled and motivated Aircraft Non-Destructive Testing/Inspection (NDT/NDI) Technician to join our team in Jacksonville, FL. This role involves conducting eddy current inspections of aircraft wing and wing attach structures using Olympus Nortec 500/600 Series eddy current flaw detectors. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and integrity of aircraft components by identifying potential flaws or defects.
Responsibilities
- Perform eddy current inspections on aircraft wing and wing attach structures, primarily utilizing Nortec 500/600 Series eddy current flaw detectors to SAE ARP4402 standards.
- Interpret and evaluate inspection results to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Document inspection results and prepare detailed reports.
- Collaborate with maintenance personnel, manufacturers, and regulatory agencies to address any identified defects or concerns.
- Adhere to safety procedures and protocols while working in various environments, including hangars and outdoor conditions.
- Maintain NDT/NDI training, qualification, and certification documentation.
- Travel to locations across the eastern US for on-site inspections, as required (up to 40% travel).
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in Non-Destructive Testing/Inspection (NDT/NDI) specifically with eddy current inspections
- Level II or Level III qualified in accordance with NAS-410, ATA Spec 105, ISO 9712, MIL-STD-410E or ASNT SNT-TC-1A eddy current testing is required.
- Familiarity with Nortec 500/600 Series eddy current flaw detectors is preferred.
- A&P (Airframe and Powerplant) Certification is highly desirable, but not mandatory.
- Strong understanding of aircraft structures and components.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel up to 40% across the eastern US.
