PGS Worldwide is actively seeking a skilled Aircraft Painter to support ongoing projects for an Aerospace leader in Greenville, SC. This is an initial 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity and I will respond immediately to all qualified candidates.
Job Description:
Plastic Media Blast Technician- Using Plastic Media to strip military aircraft to prepare for maintenance, and prep surfaces for repaint. Will load the media blast hopper, use high powered pressure sprayers to Plastic media blast aircraft components and full aircraft. Mask areas and prepare aircraft for media blasting.
~May assist with other paint shop tasks as needed.
Coats surfaces of aircraft with paint, lacquer, epoxy, resin or other material, using brushes, rollers, spray guns and other devices, removes old paint from aircraft, using liquid paint remover and scraper. Smoothes surface with sandpaper and steel wool, roughens aluminum surfaces with acid solution and steel wool to insure that paint adheres to surface, masks and covers portions of surfaces not to be painted, and paint insignia, letters or numerals on aircraft surface, using stencils.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- US Citizenship
- Media Blast experience
- Paint shop process experience
- Ability to handle strenuous activities
