Aircraft Powerplant Technician
Charleston, South Carolina
Duration: Two year contract
Hours: 2nd Shift (2.30PM - 11PM) - availability required for weekend call every 3rd or 4th weekend a month
Job Description:
The Aircraft Powerplant Technicians will be responsible for the inspection, repair, and maintenance of aircraft engines and related systems. They will conduct routine inspections, troubleshoot issues, and perform necessary installation and repairs or replacements to ensure the safe and efficient operation of aircraft engines. Additionally, they will collaboration with other maintenance personnel and effective communication skills are essential for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Engine Removal/Installation
- Incorporate modifications and inspecting / evaluating engine components
- Providing assistance to troubleshoot and resolve engine and aircraft system malfunctions
- Collecting and reporting engine-related information
- Must be willing to work on any shift (days, afternoons and nights) or rotate as necessary in any shift pattern
- Required to be available for Service Support on a 24-hour basis, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to lift, hold and carry up to 50 pounds unaided
- Must be able to travel domestically and internationally up to 50%
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma with 2+ years’ experience in aircraft engine mechanics
- In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be a US Citizen
- A&P license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates degree
- Jet engine experience
