Position Title: Airfield (AOA) Guest Assistant
Location: DFW Airport, TX, 75261
Duration: 3 months with possibility of extension
Work Schedule: There are two shifts available, either 0800-1830 or 1000-2030, which are ten-hour shifts. Workdays are either Thu-Sun or Sat-Tue
General Summary: Under general supervision of the Guest Services Lead, interacts extensively with internal and external customers and works with team members to provide direction, information and general assistance to airline passengers boarding airport buses on the Air Operations Area (AOA). Delivers exceptional customer service/care. Becomes familiar with the basics of aircraft hardstand procedures and DFW Airport's Ramp Operations Manual and SIDA badge training. Must successfully complete annual USDA Regulated Garbage training in compliance with U. S. Department of Agriculture and U. S. Customs & Border Protection regulations.

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
Principal Duties & Resposibilities
- Uses a two-way radio, telephone, or bus intercom system to communicate and receive information concerning AOA operations.
- Act as ground guide to assist Cobus operators while backing and maneuvering buses.
- Coordinates closely with Incident Command (IC) ramp controller(s) via two-way radio to facilitate passenger movement from aircraft to terminal areas.
- Directs and assists airline passengers on and off DFW buses to ensure AOA safety.
- Locates and retrieves items left on buses.
- Assists in maintaining cleanliness of fleet vehicles.
- Collects and properly handles Regulated Garbage discarded by guests on the buses in compliance with established USDA and CBP standard operating procedures.

Minimum Requirements
- Completion of high school curriculum or equivalent.
- Government-issued photo ID.
- Ability to work flexible hours and rotating shift assignments.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to think and act quickly in emergencies.
- Ability to communicate clearly, pleasantly, and effectively, both orally and in writing, and remain calm in stressful situations.
- Ability to work in a highly visible public area while maintaining good customer service skills.
- Ability to obtain Blue SIDA Badge (badge) within thirty (30) days of the date of employment and maintain qualification for the badge upon each renewal.
- Ability to obtain required Customs & Border Protection Zone One clearance to allow access to international ramp area.
- Works in and around Air Operations Area.
- Works outdoors for extended periods in inclement weather and in conditions containing dust, vehicle emissions, fumes, and noise.
- Stands for prolonged periods of time.
- Occasionally lifts/stows wheelchair ramps weighing 45 pounds.
- Exchanges information by telephone, in person, and by two-way radio.
