What you'll do:As an Airline Account Manager, you will be integral in helping our Airline customers succeed in their in-flight WiFi strategic initiatives and will help shape their success outcomes. You will work cross-functionally both internally in prioritizing objectives as well as externally in facilitating all facets of the Airline’s needs.
The day-to-day:- Serve as the main focal point for customer needs and requirements for all aspects of the Viasat system and services
- Lead the day-to-day customer relationship across multiple levels of customer organizations, as well as leading Quarterly Reviews and Executive Reviews
- Manage Viasat system delivery from concept to purchase order, installation and certification, through to delivery and installation on aircraft
- Develop and deliver on key strategic and revenue growth objectives in collaboration with leadership, targeting both short-term and long-term goals
- Manage within a cross-functional, matrix organization of engineers, developers, operations, logistics and field support as part of the customer program
- Develop, maintain, and distribute standard project management results, including implementation plan, project schedule with achievements, project budget and variances, issues & action items log, meeting minutes, risks assessment and contingencies
- Build and grow relationships across multiple airline functional areas in order to establish a position as a trusted and respected advisor to the customer
- Be a problem solver that proactively leads, finds solutions and de-escalates issues both internally and externally
- Full P&L responsibility with monthly reporting to Segment President
- Negotiate on customer service agreements, amendments, change orders, pricing, etc.
- 5+ years' of customer facing Account Management and Program Management experience in a technological organization
- Proven Program Management skills with the ability to work on and track multiple projects simultaneously
- Demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically when implementing products and solving problems
- Proficient in MS Office, including MS Project
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with both technical and nontechnical individuals
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or equivalent experience
- Ability to travel up to 25% both domestically and internationally
- Previous airline or OEM experience
- Software and hardware development oversight experience
- Strong negotiating and influencing skills
- MBA strongly preferred
