The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT & PF) Fairbanks International Airport (FAI) is recruiting for 1 dedicated Airport Police and Fire Officer I/II position to help us Keep Alaska Moving through service and infrastructure!
Fairbanks International Airport Police and Fire Officers are responsible for all law enforcement, firefighting, and first responder medical assistance at the Fairbanks International Airport.
The incumbent receives training at a State certified police academy and field training with senior officers. All requirements of the Alaska Police Standards Council must be met for certification. Employees are enrolled in the DPS Academy in Sitka. The employee must also successfully pass the State of Alaska Firefighter I, Firefighter II, Aircraft Rescue Firefighter, Hazardous Materials Operations, and Emergency Trauma Technician certifications. All training is paid for by the Department and the employee receives pay while in training. Officers will work shift work throughout their career. Education and special duty pay incentives are available. Prior experience or certifications may qualify for higher starting pay. Contact the hiring manager for more details.
