The Ness Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. In this role, you will provide crucial support and treatment to individuals struggling with alcohol and substance use disorders. The ideal candidate will be committed to helping clients achieve and maintain recovery, utilizing evidence-based practices in a supportive and non-judgmental environment.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive substance use assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions focused on addiction recovery
- Facilitate educational workshops on substance use, relapse prevention, and coping skills
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic client care
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Conduct regular client progress evaluations and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Provide crisis intervention and support as required
- Assist clients in accessing community resources and support systems
- Participate in case conferences and team meetings
- Stay current with trends and best practices in addiction treatment
- Engage in ongoing professional development activities
- Support clients' families through education and counseling as appropriate
Qualifications:
Required:
- Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field
- Current state licensure as an LPC, LCPC, LSW, or LCSW
- Minimum of 2 years post-licensure clinical experience in a mental health setting
Preferred:
- Additional licensure or certification in mental health counseling
- Experience with specific therapeutic approaches (e.g., Motivational Interviewing, CBT for Substance Use Disorders)
