Job Summary
The Allied Equipment Training Instructor position reports directly to the Regional Service Manager. The position also involves designing and implementing a comprehensive technical training program for Fabick CAT's allied equipment. The role is crucial for ensuring that both new and existing employees are skilled in the operation, maintenance, and safety procedures of allied equipment. This includes creating training materials, conducting hands-on training sessions, and ensuring that all technical training needs are effectively met. The training center for this position is located in Janesville, WI, providing a central base for the development and delivery of high-quality technical training programs.
Responsibilities
* Develop training curriculum, write course descriptions, create a training schedule, and update technical training courses to meet Fabick requirements, including current products, procedures, parts, tooling, NPI, and training aids.
* Work with the Regional Service Manager to identify areas where additional training is needed.
* Prepare training material (presentations, worksheets, tests, etc...)
* Communicate with the Regional Service Manager and Branch Operation Manager to ensure that all technicians' required courses and certifications.
* Develop Allied equipment training program required for FabTech students joining Fabick Cat's Rental team, which includes creating 4-week curriculum, course descriptions, training schedules, and preparing training material.
* Maintain accurate technical information and training records to ensure no confidential or privileged information is released to unauthorized persons.
* Keep informed with current new allied equipment updates and releases
* Work to keep training and personal expenses within appropriate levels.
* Responsible for all other duties and responsibilities assigned.
* Travel is required to attend training at manufacturer facilities and conduct training throughout the Fabick territory.
Qualifications
* Associate's degree in business, diesel related field, or instruction/teaching
* 5 or more years of service experience in either the automotive, trucking, or Heavy Equipment industry.
* Technology savvy- be able to use Microsoft products (Word, Excel, etc)
* The individual must be willing to travel within an assigned territory and work irregular hours as required.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.
* A strong mechanical aptitude is required. Knowledge of construction equipment is a plus.
* Must be able to instruct multiple students in a classroom and field setting
* Must be able to work independently as well as with a team setting
Preferred Qualifications
* Prior experience as a diesel technician is preferred; teaching in the technical setting.
* Bachelor's degree in business or related field
Physical Requirements
In addition to being able to sit, stand, walk, read, talk, write and hear, to perform the essential functions of this job an individual must be able to do the following additional activities: occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and operate in a very fast past environment. Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions, both hot and cold weather temperatures.
