What you need to know:
The Alternative Channel Distribution Leader will be responsible for driving AIG’s profitable growth, maximizing AIG’s franchise value and managing our Delegated Authority and Captive relationships for the commercial business within NA GI with unique and measurable objectives in the programs/MGA, risk management, and commercial accounts market segments.
The Alternative Channel Distribution Leader will be a wholly dedicated role that will work with the Head of Wholesale and Alternative Channels Distribution as well as the leaders of Glatfelter, AIG Programs and Captive Solutions to establish and execute a broad and customized distribution management strategy. They will also play an integral role in the wider AIG Distribution organization.
How you will create an impact:
- Developing and managing strategic growth plans for our Glatfelter programs, existing MGAs, MGUs, Program Administrators, Captive Management, US Fronting, and Group Captive clients.
- Identify key (and high quality) distribution sources who control business that fits our risk appetite and target account profile, to expand the GPCS distribution footprint, and open doors to new business opportunities that AIG is not currently seeing.
- Support the Captive Solutions team to triage new opportunities and identify deals that have the highest chance of success.
- Manage the program opportunity catalogue and identify plans around targets in order to source synergistic and accretive Program M&A targets.
- Build real time and consistent management reporting methods to hold partners accountable for production and performance.
- Work with Marketing & Communications to coordinate AIG’s participation in industry sponsored events as well as AIG hosted events (such as AIG Program Summit, Glatfelter MVP, Target Markets, AAMGA, Captive domicile, and segment specific forums). Ensure AIG is the Program Market of choice.
- Work with the following stakeholders to achieve Business Unit and NA GI Distribution goals, objectives, and priority initiatives with executive level commitments and buy-in from the respective distribution source(s).
- Business Unit Sales and Underwriting management
- The AIG US Zone Presidents
- The Wholesale, Retail, & Canadian Distribution Leaders
- Ensure “Balanced Trade” and build collaborative growth plans across all distribution channels.
- In collaboration with the Business Unit leaders in Glatfelter, AIG Programs, and Captive Solutions, drive profitable growth, the desired retention, and fill the new business pipeline with quality opportunities that fit the target account profile in each business.
- Develop and facilitate trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders and work closely with the Glatfelter, AIG Programs & Captive Solutions distribution partners and build strong relationships, gain trust, facilitate creative / innovative solutions, and showcase the GPCS franchise value and differentiation.
- Act as a liaison between the GPCS business units and the rest of the AIG teams to ensure collaboration and coordination.
- Ensure GPCS is represented in leadership meetings and broker discussions.
- Expand the product and capabilities we offer through Glatfelter Brokerage Services – work with the AIG teams to ensure the success of GBS and drive growth in premium produced through the unit.

What you'll need to succeed:
- 10+ Years of experience with P&C Carrier or Brokerage focused on the Delegated Authority & Captive distribution channels.
- Ability to use that experience to develop a relationship / operations strategy that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position.
- Leadership
- Ability to influence resources to achieve objectives across various Business Units and geographies.
- Maximize performance organization to achieve predetermined vision and objectives.

For positions based in New York City, the base salary range is $118,000 - $178,000. In addition, the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
