Alternative Delivery Agreements and Governance Advisor - WSP USA

This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for an Alternative Delivery Agreements and Governance Advisor for our Denver, CO, Washington D.C. or San Francisco office.  Be involved in projects with our US Advisory Services Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges. 

Your Impact

• Guiding and supporting junior colleagues' growth and development
• Implementing internal and external marketing efforts aimed to identify, leverage, and secure Alternative Delivery and Governance advisory opportunities
• Coordinating project and pursuit activities with other business units across the organization
• Guiding public agencies and private sector clients through the delivery of capital projects ranging across the spectrum of transportation, rail, buildings, and other types of capital assets.
• Advising agencies on methods of project delivery and the financing of capital projects, with an emphasis on alternative delivery methods, including Public-Private-Partnerships (P3), design-build, progressive design-build, construction manager/general contractor (CM/GC), and construction manager at risk (CMAR).
• Strategizing with agencies and project owners to evaluate project delivery methods and determine the optimal method to fit the owner’s needs
• Interfacing with project owners to determine the goals and constraints for the implementation of their projects
• Developing procurement strategies and procurement documents for alternative delivery projects, including, for example, Requests for Information, Requests or Qualifications and Requests for Proposals
• Advising public agencies and private clients through the procurement process to engage an entity to design, construct, operate, and maintain a capital asset, including in the crafting of evaluation criteria, selecting proposers, and negotiating agreements to close
• Developing risk profiles for projects, which includes producing risk matrices that identify critical risks, facilitating and attending risk workshops, and evaluating the allocation of identified risks for project delivery
• Collaborating in a teaming environment with other members of project teams for the successful procurement of alternative delivery projects, including interacting with, and providing appropriate advice to engineers, investment bankers, financial analysts, legal counsel, and internal-client procurement teams
• Developing strategies for change management and alternative delivery project implementation and setting up the process for agencies to implement these strategies over the life of a project
• Advising project managers with respect to ongoing project implementation issues, including change management and the interpretation of alternative delivery contracts
• Managing the delivery of large infrastructure projects, including by providing assistance on claims and disputes

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in a relevant field
• 15+ years’ experience in relevant discipline, and in a management consulting or client advisory capacity
• Advanced proficiency with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management; including active involvement in a variety of projects.
• Strong working knowledge of relevant laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements, and their interrelationships with clients and projects.
• Works independently and provides guidance and leadership to mid-level to senior level team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to effectively, persuasively, and tactfully interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to prioritize responsibilities.
• Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including senior management, clients, regulators, and company-wide staff, including those with whom no formal hierarchical relationship exits.
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Active engagement in relevant industry organizations
• Authorization to immediately work in the United States

Compensation:

Expected Salary (all locations): $182,000 - $263,800

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.

Expected Salary (Colorado only): $190,0000 - $247,000

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position within the state of Colorado, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
