Position Title: Aluminum Tack Welder

Basic Function

The Aluminum Tack Welder assists the ship fitter by providing necessary tools and performing tacking, grinding, and other duties as directed. This role supports various welding and fitting tasks in alignment with project requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Experience:

• At least 3 months of experience in tack welding.

Technical Skills:

• Must successfully pass a hands-on (GMAW-P) tacker T-joint test, demonstrating proficiency in the vertical and overhead positions, with the vertical position tacked using uphill progression.
• Basic familiarity with welding or fitting processes is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Support to Ship Fitter:
  Provide required tools and assist with various tasks as directed to facilitate welding and fitting operations.
• Welding Tasks:
  Perform tacking, grinding, and other assigned duties, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Skill Demonstration:
  Display competent tack welding skills, particularly in vertical and overhead positions, to meet job standards.
