Our cooks are responsible for preparing all food items, based on our recipes at a consistently high standard. We prepare food for our cafe, our restaurant, our banquets program, and our cafeteria for our team.
In addition to making consistently excellent food, our cooks are also responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, sanitation and safety in the kitchen and work areas. We pride ourselves on our working environment and it takes the whole team to make that happen!
Responsibilities:
What Skills Are We Looking For?
- High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
- Food Handlers Certification (must comply with State requirements)
- Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
- Must be able to read and prepare tickets including all modifications and accommodating allergies or dietary restrictions
- Must work well in stressful high-pressure situations.
What Else Do Our Cooks Do?
- Be a Hospitable Minded Pro:
- Approach all encounters with guests and associates in a friendly service-oriented manner.
- Attendance:
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Aimbridge Hospitality standards as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
- Keep it Safe:
- Comply with certification requirements as applicable to position to include Food Handlers Safety etc.
- Know Your Menus:
- Have thorough knowledge of menus and the preparation required according to hotel standards.
- Keep it Clean:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all storage areas.
- Mind your Mise:
- Complete necessary food and station preparations prior to opening of the Restaurant/Dining Outlet/Cafe in order to ensure that guests are served promptly and efficiently during the operating hours.
- Know Your Tools:
- Be able to operate and maintain cleanliness of all kitchen equipment.
- Be a Team Player:
- Perform any other duties as requested by management.
