Summary
Generates all system and facility quality reports and provides and facilitates analytical interpretation of business and value-based purchasing data to achieve improvement. Assists with development and loading of data files and applying statistical methodologies to analyze data pulled from available data systems/data warehouses. Gathers, interprets and summarizes complex data for inpatients, outpatients and available physician office practice data. Works in conjunction with BMG to interpret physician contracts, research quality metrics and provide quarterly reports to BMG physician groups and individual physicians. Incumbent is responsible for all quality data management support functions for BMHCC eight hours/day, five days/week. Some overtime and callback may be required. This position is under the general direction of the Director of Outcome Measure Management.
Responsibilities
+ Generates, analyzes and interprets all system and facility quality reports and communicates information regarding key quality/financial performance metrics that impact system reimbursement.
+ Consults in the design and implementation of trend analyses, comparative performance, program evaluations and other data analysis specifically related to the quality arena to support improvement of healthcare.
+ Monitors activities in quality performance measurement including DRGs, APR DRGs, ICD diagnosis and procedure code lists, CPT codes, etc.
+ Maintains and updates expertise with necessary tools as needed to creatively work with data.
+ Interacts with organizational clinical/quality/operational leaders in professional, confident and knowledgeable manner and presents information to leaders/co-workers as needed.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
+ Offers quality support and reporting for BMG.
Requirements, Preferences and Experience
Education
Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in engineering, business or healthcare administration or other related analytical discipline; along with a Master's Degree in engineering, business or healthcare administration.
Experience
Minimum: Possesses experience in data analysis and statistics with SAS and /or SQL. Experience in quality reporting.
Special Skills
Minimum: Uses effective project management skills, including project planning and tracking. Has an understanding of data management, process improvement, quality initiatives, development of technical specifications of quality of care measures. Possesses strong technical skills coupled with business intelligence and understanding of customer needs which can be transformed into application and operational requirements. Must have strong written and oral communication skills
