Job Purpose
The “Portfolio Finance Analyst” serves as the primary owner and point-of-contact for financing agreements within the Pattern Energy project-financing portfolio. This portfolio primarily consists of construction and operating power generation and transmission assets. The main responsibilities of the “Portfolio Finance Analyst” include, among others:
- Ensuring 100% compliance across Pattern Energy’s portfolio of project financings, tax equity financings, equity financings, and other financing facility agreements, as applicable;
- Serving as the point-of-contact and relationship manager for external financing partners;
- Serving as the knowledge center across the financing agreements, including managing and interpreting complex financing agreements;
- Owning the project finance functions and serving as the Managing Member (as applicable) across Pattern Energy’s portfolio of financed assets – this includes producing and reviewing financial and operational reports; monitoring and tracking key financial, operational, and tax and partnership metrics and covenants; forecasting cash and determining cash distributions; drafting financial tools; budget reporting; managing construction loan administration; interpreting financial statements; performing ad-hoc financial analysis; working across financial funding / closing models and HLBV tracking models; contributing to internal senior management reports; etc.; and
- Supporting transactions such as financial closings, fundings, refinancings, payoffs, terminations, take-out financings, and term conversions; and leading certain financing processes and executions such as formal consents, amendments, waivers, notices, etc.
Education and Required Work Experience
- Minimum 2+ years transferrable work experience in a related financial, contractual, energy, banking, portfolio management, asset management, accounting, and/or project management role
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Demonstrated history of increased responsibility

Additional Technical Skills
- Ability to read, understand, navigate, and interpret complex legal contracts and financing structures – ability to draft legal documents a plus;
- Solid excel skills backed by a foundation in quantitative / financial reasoning;
- An understanding of project finance;
- Effective professional writing and communication skills; and
- Proficiency in standard office software (e.g. MS Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Adobe, etc.) - proficiency with ERPs a plus.
The expected starting pay range for this role is $80,000 - $108,000 USD. This range is an estimate and base pay may be above or below the ranges based on several factors including but not limited to location, work experience, certifications, and education. In addition to base pay, Pattern’s compensation program includes a bonus structure for full-time employees of all levels.
