Job Overview:
The APTIM Federal Services, LLC team at the USEPA Analytical Laboratory Support Program (ALS) has an opening for an analytical chemist to help develop drinking water methods. The chosen candidate will join a group of APTIM chemists on-site at the USEPA Andrew Breidenbach Environmental Research Center (AWBERC) in Cincinnati, OH. Under the general supervision of the ALS management and senior staff, the ideal candidate will design and conduct experiments to develop drinking water methods for a variety of trace contaminants.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
+ Work independently and in a small group designing experiments, conducting extractions, performing analysis, and compiling data
+ Operate GCs, GC/MS, LC-MS/MS, and water quality instruments as needed
+ Abide by USEPA and APTIM safety and quality control procedures
+ Support the quality assurance program with data review and evaluations
+ Communicate effectively within and outside the APTIM group
+ Document experiments and write methods consistent with USEPA and APTIM standards
Basic Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related field with 8 years of related experience, a Master's degree with 4 years of experience, or a PhD
+ Ability to communicate and write clearly and concisely
+ Ability to work independently and to take direction from more senior team members as needed
