Position Summary:
We are looking for an Android Developer who possesses a passion for pushing mobile technologies to the limits and will work with our team of talented engineers to design and build the next generation of our mobile applications.
Essential Functions:
- 3+ years of design and build advanced applications for the Android platform
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Work with outside data sources and API's
- Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
- Work on bug fixing and improving application performance.
- Continuously Client, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
- Supervision Received: Requires little to no supervision. Plans and carries out work assignments; resolves most conflicts which arise; coordinates work with others as necessary; interprets policy on own initiative in terms of established objectives. Keeps Team leader informed of progress, potentially controversial matters, or far-reaching implications
- Supervisory Duties: No functional supervisory responsibility but is responsible for managing a specific function. Trains and assigns work to Team members on an occasional basis; performs the same work as the group on a regular basis.
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
- Proven software development experience
- Proven working experience in Android development
- Experience with Android SDK
- Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON
- Experience with third-party libraries and APIs
- Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
- Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.
- Must be willing to travel domestically within the USA
- Must speak, read and write English fluently
- Regular attendance is required
- Must have a positive attitude

- Must be well groomed and maintain a professional appearance
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country in which the position is located
- Must pass 7 year background check and drug test
- Proven working experience in Android development
- Experience with Android SDK
- Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON
- Experience with third-party libraries and APIs
- Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
- Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge to generate design solutions
- Demonstrated ability to define and enhance engineering design processes
- Knowledge of avionics certifications processes and requirements preferred but not required
- Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations governing avionics preferred but not required
- Demonstrated ability to interact and present ideas and solutions with customers (internal and external)
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet Explorer
- Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Results oriented
- Ability to work in a team development environment
- Able to work with and in close proximity of fellow Team members
- Ability to prioritize workload
- Equipment: Computer and other office equipment, Electronics lab test equipment, computers
- Normal office, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet
- Work shifts may vary – flexibility required
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment while maintaining accuracy and efficiency
- Must be willing to travel on a limited basis both domestically as well as intern
- The position is considered On-Call and a mobile telephone will be provided
Light physical effort required by handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds
