Anesthesia Technician Role:
This job is responsible for assisting licensed anesthesia providers, within scope of licensure, in the acquisition, preparation and application of the equipment and supplies required for the administration of safe, efficient and cost-effective anesthesia care. An incumbent provides support for routine and complex surgical cases by preparing and maintaining patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems before, during and after anesthesia and involves the operation of a variety of mechanical, pneumatic and electronic equipment used to monitor, evaluate and manage the patient undergoing anesthesia.
Qualifications:Education/Experience:
Graduation from an accredited Anesthesia Technology program or
Two years of related work experience as an Anesthesia Technician or other health care provider (e.g. LPN, EMT, etc.)that would demonstrate possession of the requisite job knowledge/abilities.
License/Certification:
If qualified under #1 above, current certification as an Anesthesia Technician through the American Society of Anesthesia Technicians and Technologists (ASATT) is preferred.
Current healthcare provider American Heart Association BLS certification required.
If classified as Anesthesia Tech-Cert, certification as an Anesthesia Technician through the American Society of Anesthesia Technicians and Technologists (ASATT) is required.
