We are seeking individuals who demonstrate these values for an Animal Care Specialist Position. As an Animal Care Specialist, you can count on becoming not just part of a growing company, but a family.

POSITION OBJECTIVES AND PURPOSE:

The Animal Care Specialist is responsible for providing support to breeding, farrowing or wean-finish teams. This position is part-time with about 20 to 25 hours per week. We are looking for individuals who are available to work on weekends specifically Saturdays and Sundays with opportunities to work a few weekdays. Individuals will work with site manager on establishing a schedule.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Tasks are dependent upon the department, but may include:

• Provide care for animals, ensuring they have access to food, water and a comfortable environment
• Assist with movement of animals
• Treat and vaccinate animals
• Maintain accurate documentation
• Assist in power washing
• Promote a safe work environment
• Maintain PQA certification status (provided on the job)
• Follow all SFI bio-security policies and procedures
• Exhibit strong teamwork, including working to achieve team goals, embracing new technologies, working on new projects, etc.
• Be capable of lifting a minimum of 50 lbs. with reasonable accommodation
