Job Summary:
Key Responsibilities:
+ Conduct Research with the Uhler Lab and faculty from the Dept. of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in a new state-of-the-art testing facility that includes dedicated space for psychophysical and evoked potential (ABR/EEG) measurements
+ Conducts comprehensive audiometry (pure tone and speech), middle-ear immittance measures, otoacoustic emissions, auditory evoked potentials; air conduction, bone conduction, electrically evoked responses, hearing aid and cochlear implant fittings, programming, and verification, unaided and aided speech discrimination testing
+ Executes psychoacoustic-based experiments including tonal detection, masking, spectral and temporal resolution, pitch discrimination, etc.
+ Completes data entry, data management and initial data analyses
+ Participates in data dissemination, assists in development and writing of manuscripts for publication
+ Assist in writing grants
+ Maintain and write new research IRB protocols as necessary for the work
+ Train and supervise junior research associates, students and post-doctoral researchers.
+ Actively recruit subjects across campuses
+ Oversees calibration including determination of calibration needs and timetables. Completes hands-on calibration in laboratories where calibration is completed within the lab

Minimum Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in any field
+ Three (3) years clinical research or related experience
+ Audiology Assistant Certification

Preferred Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in science or health related field
+ Ten (10) years of clinical research or related experience
+ Experience with REDCAP
+ Experience with electronic data capture systems (e.g. EMR or EHR and data management systems)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
+ Advanced knowledge and understanding of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
+ Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally

By understanding the impact of auditory access on perceptual development from the first year of life into toddlerhood, we hope to develop novel interventions for children vulnerable to language development. This Researcher will be involved in recruiting, tracking, and testing infants and children with typical and atypical hearing.
