Job Summary:
As an AP/AR Manager, you will play a pivotal role in our finance team, overseeing the AP/AR for our diverse real estate portfolio.
Key Responsibilities of the AP/AR Manager:
- Train, guide, and support clerical staff, while managing portfolio assignments.
- Conduct performance evaluations both on an annual basis and as needed.
- Create and document policies and procedures for AP and AR, and deliver training to the accounting and property management teams.
- Oversee vendor invoice and payment data entry for AP, providing backup support when necessary.
- Track cash balances, ensure approvals are in place, and process vendor payments.
- Handle the setup and processing of new vendors.
- Lead and manage the annual 1099 reporting process.
- Review AR data entry for tenant leases, rent charges, rent rolls, and payment applications.
- Collaborate with leasing, property management, and collections teams to manage tenant relocations, terminations, and account write-offs.
- Perform bookkeeping duties and contribute to various ad hoc projects, with the opportunity to assist in treasury, property accounting, and financial analysis tasks.
Qualifications preferred of the AP/AR Manager:
- Minimum 6 years of accounting experience in the real estate industry, within commercial or residential real estate.
- Strong AP/AR experience
- Strong understanding of property accounting
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
