As the AP Specialist, you will efficiently and accurately process high-volume accounts payable activity across multiple companies. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, you will maintain positive vendor relationships while ensuring adherence to company standards. You will also assist with various accounting, audit, and financial tasks related to AP.
You Will:
Analyze and process a high volume of invoices observing company policies and procedures.
Manage workflows to ensure processing and approvals of invoices and check requests.
Investigate workflow delays and communicate corrective action to users
Review and reconcile open receivers to determine appropriate action
Research various issues relating to invoice vs purchase order variances
Process invoices in multiple currencies.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
Address debit balances on vendor accounts and take corrective action.
Identify and escalate issues timely; maintain critical vendor accounts.
Assess the taxability of vendor invoices for sales and tax use.
Support weekly payment runs, including wire transfers, checks, and ACH.
Support month-end and year-end close processes.
Support internal and external audits.
Follow established Accounts Payable policies, procedures, and control processes to ensure accuracy of Accounts Payable.
You Have:
Associate's in Accounting, Business or Finance or equivalent work experience required.
2+ years of experience in accounts payable.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Familiar with standard accounting concepts.
Customer service-focused and results oriented .
Ability to work well in a team environment.
Communicate effectively with vendors, coworkers and management.
Flexibility in scheduling due to business requirements (i.e. month-end close and payment runs).
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
Work in both office and manufacturing environment. May occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.
