Title: Accounts Payable Specialist
Reports to: Account Payable Manager
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Position Summary:
Perform accounting and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Review and verify invoices and check requests
- Sort, code and match invoices
- Set invoices up for payment
- Enter and upload invoices into system
- Track expenses and process expense reports
- Post transactions to journals, ledgers and other records
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions
- Prepare analysis of accounts
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
- Maintain vendor files
- Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries
- Produce monthly reports
- Assist with month end closing
- Provide supporting documentation for audits
Supervisory Responsibilities: No direct reports.

Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED required, a college degree preferred. At least one year of accounts payable or general accounting experience. Knowledge of accounts payable, general accounting procedures, and proficient in data entry and management strongly preferred.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of ERP systems, MS Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.
Travel Requirements
To perform this job successfully an individual should have the means and ability to travel on a flexible schedule. Travel is anticipated to be minimal, with occasional non-regional travel.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- Requires mobility to travel locally or nationally.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment
Majority of time is spent in an office environment. Occasional time in a production or warehouse environment may be required to meet operating company needs.
