API Java Developer
Location: Jersey City, NJ
6 Months
We are looking for a Technical Developer with 5-7 years experience in Design and Development of Services using Java/APIs, Framework interfaces using Java and interfaces between Data and Application Systems. The person should have basic knowledge of web services.
This technical position will handle data from multiple data sources across Business Unites and Regions for Operational and Analytical needs. Experience with Microsoft Azure, APIM ,SQL Server DB, Oracle is preferred.
Key responsibilities also include the following:
• Analyze data from various data sources.
• Design and develop Web Service/API using Java
• Design and develop reusable code for data services
• Maintain and Support APIs .
• Work in an Agile project environment and demonstrate ability to adapt to a sprint based work environment.
• Strong team emphasis and relationship building skills; create effective partnerships with business, other IT areas
• Knowledge of Insurance Data and SQL coding.
• Be proactive, self-motivated, detail-oriented, creative, inquisitive and persistent
• Ability to organize, plan and implement work assignments, prioritize competing demands and work under pressure of tight deadlines
• Participate in on-call production support of applications in multiple environments; escalate issues following procedures to minimize service interruption
• Participate in application and data integration test, deployment activities, provide support during warranty period
• Prepare and maintain Service/API documentation
• Provide timely and accurate reporting of progress, status and issues.
Qualifications/Skills:
• BS in Mathematics/Computer Science or Information Management.
• Over 3 years of Design and Development experience in Java .
• Hands on experience in building data Services
• Knowledge of Informatica Master Data Management Solution
• Core Java development experience SDK, J2EE with expertise in Design Patterns ( like Adapters, Business Objects, Delegates, Service Locator, Singleton, DAO, DTO)
• Hand on with Design and Development of REST web services, familiarity with app servers Websphere/Weblogic/Tomcat/JBOSS
• Experience in RDBMS like SQL Server, Oracle DB and NoSQL. Preference on Microsoft Azure stack development.
• Experience in Microsoft Azure APIM and endpoint registrations is a plus.
• Experience with Code repository management like GitHub.
• Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle and Agile methodologies
• Strong ability to learn and leverage new technologies quickly and appropriately.
• Solid verbal and written communication skills.
• Insurance industry experience is a plus.
