Job Description:
Responsibilities:
- Cover neurosurgery consults at night and interface with the neurosurgery team.
- Also cover consults in the Medical ICU/Cardiac ICU for post-cardiac arrest patients and critical neurological issues.
- Manage intracranial pressure, perform procedures such as central and arterial line insertions, and provide professional services consistent with hospital capabilities.
Work Hours:
- 100% inpatient work, totaling 84 hours per pay period.
- Follow a rotating schedule of three 12-hour shifts with four 12-hour shifts every other week.
- Provide night coverage from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, collaborating closely with residents and managing Neuro Critical Care (NCC) services overnight.
Patient Population:
- Serve in the Neuro ICU, which operates 24/7, accepting patients from multiple referral locations.
- Patient cases include acute ischemic stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, status epilepticus, and post-neurosurgical cases, among others.
Teaching Opportunities:
- Mentor and educate residents in our competitive Neurology residency program.
- Participate in our robust grand rounds series to further contribute to medical education.
Equipment and Ancillary Services:
- Access cutting-edge equipment including Viz.ai, full-service CT imaging, and intouch devices.
- Utilize intouch devices during rounding service as needed.
- Benefit from in-house ancillary services such as imaging, lab services, and physical therapy.
Special Skills:
Seeking a Board-Certified Advanced Practice Provider (APP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with the ability to obtain an Ohio medical professional license and DEA with full prescriptive authority. Strong clinical skills and commitment to exceptional patient care required.
