Overview
Halifax Health is seeking an Application Analyst II - PACS Administrator/Fuji Systems/Merge Hemo for the Imaging Informatics Department.
Summary
The Application Analyst II - PACS Administrator/Fuji Systems/Merge Hemo is responsible for the management and oversight of all Halifax Health PACS systems and related applications. Responsibilities include planning, developing, and implementing PACS systems. Develops policies and Imaging Informatics workflows, including advisement on strategic planning. Works closely with Radiology and IT department for PACS design, functionality, data integrity and project management. Responsible for achieving quality goals. Primary trainer for staff and Radiologists on PACS systems. Additionally, the incumbent provides consultation and assistance to users of health information systems to include: analyzing user requirements, planning and designing user system interfaces, database development, testing applications, training users, writing user documentation and resolving user problems.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related, business or health-related field, or equivalent experience and/or technical training.
- 5+ years of computer related or technical experience sufficient to gain exposure to user technical and operational needs for on-line healthcare computer systems, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Function as project manager for health and imaging information systems; coordinate application modifications that apply to multiple systems.
- Analyze user computing needs and define functional specifications for software design and modifications to include interviewing users, observing current user environment, evaluating existing systems and applications, determining data input and output specifications and defining and documenting functional requirements for software design.
- Design, code, and maintain databases/applications to support customer/user needs
- Write test plans and coordinate user and internal testing; resolve and re-test identified errors and problems.
- Develop the implementation and installation plans for user department; and coordinate installation.
- Plan and teach user training sessions; make oral and written presentations to project teams and management.
- Write and update user documentation.
- Imaging depart liason with various other departments as needed
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein
