Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Conceptualize, develop, and present automation project ideas.

Estimate costs for designing and building custom automation solutions.

Analyze parts, drawings, machine designs, and other documentation to ensure accurate project start.

Manage time effectively to meet tight deadlines and estimating schedules.

Identify and document special considerations during project initiation.

Maintain organized, accurate records for all estimated projects.

Coordinate and prioritize multiple projects across trades, adapting to frequent changes.

Generate formal quotes, drawings, and presentations for customer.

Participate in job releases or engineering changes with the release team.

Fully understand customer needs and tooling requirements.

Consistently maintain professionalism and represent the company in a presentable manner.

Have a thorough understanding of the company’s tooling and manufacturing processes.

Engage in periodic design reviews and job close-out/lessons learned sessions.
-
Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Requirements:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred) with 2-5+ years of estimating experience, or Associate’s degree (Engineering-related) with 5+ years of estimating experience.

5+ years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field.

Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar 3D software.

Strong ability to read and interpret machine designs, part drawings, and project specifications.

Familiarity with automation, machine tooling, and standard industry practices.

Technical and business acumen, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Strong critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and communication abilities.

Comfortable interacting with customers and external vendors.

Skilled in technical writing and oral communication, with the ability to present to various audiences.

Self-motivated with the willingness to work overtime as needed.

Strong organizational and time management skills, able to work with minimal direction.

Ability to lead kick-off meetings and compare quoted pricing to actual project outcomes.

Commitment to delivering quotes on time and reviewing budget variances post-project.

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Willingness to travel 5-10%, both nationally and internationally.
