The Sales Support Engineering Team Leaderwill be responsible for supervising Support Engineers who provide a variety of crucial support functions for the sales team. These functions include sales support from the time of inquiry to delivery, which requiresvalidating the equipment selection, pricing, submittals, and providing technical product knowledge.
What you'll do:
Team Leadership
- Responsible for training and developing SupportEngineers, providingtechnical advice, and offering guidance.
- Assist with implementation of policies, practices, and standards to ensure effective and consistent department operation.
- Monitor metrics, implement actions to improve performance, and identify opportunities for growth.
- Adopt and support tools, platforms, initiatives, and programs focused on enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.
- Participate in the selection process for new Support Engineers.
- Conduct annual goal setting and performance reviews.
Support Engineering
- Collaborate with sales engineers to understand customer requirements, assess HVAC equipment needs, and determine system requirements.
- Design HVAC systems based on project documents and produce site specific installation drawings along with the selection of appropriate equipment.
- Prepare, finalize, and review preliminary and/or final proposal complete. Prepare equipment submittals and validate equipment selection.
- Assist sales engineerin determining proposal price, selling strategy, and developing project fulfillment schedule with project team.
- Prepare submittal data and provide all necessary revisions for an approved submittal package.
- Review manufacturer acknowledgements for accuracy and correct orders as required.
- Complete orders and track progress while continually updating status to customer and sales engineers.
- Maintain accurate records including contract closeout, warranty execution, and manufacturer product updates and improvements.
- Help facilitate turnover from sales to service team.
- Provide high level application-based technical product training for our offices. This will be used to optimize our current training programs.

Required skills, knowledge, and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent training and experience in a similar field.
- 7+ years of support engineering experience, preferably in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- 2+ years of experience informally or formally leading a team including coaching, mentoring, and conducting performance reviews and annual goal setting.
- Deep technical knowledge of HVAC systems and the manufacturers that serve the markets.
- Mastery in the concepts of HVAC controls in new construction, renovation/retrofit project types, components, and systems with the ability to program and commission pre and post installation.
- Demonstrated ability to comprehend, discuss, apply, and mentor peers in new concepts in the HVAC industry.
- Education and experience within the construction and engineering industry, with specific experience dealing with construction drawings, specifications, construction schedules and processes is a plus.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Must be highly organized and possess the ability to work in a high paced environment with the ability to prioritize tasks to meet the schedules.
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently and autonomously and take ownership of all tasks.
Physical Demands:
- Travel to customer job sites maybe required, which could include outdoor work and/or work in mechanical/equipment rooms. During site visits, the employee may be exposed to variable weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, heights, and other variable environmental conditions.
- May be required to satisfy requirements imposed by specific projects, customers, or company.
- Must be able to use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet.
