We are hiring an Applications Engineer to join our team. To be in this position you must be able to work out of one of our U.S. based locations:

Job Summary:
We are looking for an energetic experienced Gas Engine Controls Engineer that will be responsible for leading the development and execution of systems for power generation and compressor control systems driven by gas engines. Act as Consultant Engineer on specialist applications. You will be expected to take a project from conception through design and testing to onsite commissioning and all the necessary documentation on the way.
You should have a deep understanding of the combustion process in the gas engine including design knowledge of air-fuel-ratio, ignition, fuel injection, carburetors, and fuel mass metering systems.
The main focus of the engineering group is the retrofit and conversion of control systems to Woodward programmable controls, as well as auxiliary control systems be they PLC’s, HMI’s, SCADA, AVR’s, protective relays, power management controls.
MSHS is a service driven company, we must respond to our customers' needs in a timely and effective manner as such there will be times when urgent travel, technical support is required.
This position requires some, usually scheduled travel in addition to working from the office.

- Work Schedule: Monday-Friday.
- Travel expectations: 25-50%, including overnight stays and weekends.
- Ability to travel via plane, train, and vehicle.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
- Relocation assistance is provided on an as-needed basis.
- This position is eligible for an annual bonus (STI) of up to 10% of the annual salary.
- This position is eligible for bonus compensation for qualified commissioning jobs.

Requirements
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Automation control systems integration design, development and testing.
- Strong experience with Woodward/Altronic/Impco control products and software.
- Strong experience in gas engine fuel systems.
- Provides Customer/Sales Support (TAG).
Key Performance Indicators:
- Improving and exceeding project gross margin targets.
- Increased scope of work on projects to improve revenue.
- Safety accountability (safety observations and JSAs).
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Minimum 8 – 10 years in a gas engine engineering role.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office business software, Word, Excel, Power Point.
- Demonstrated self-starting ability with good interpersonal skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (in English a must, Spanish would be a plus).
- Willing and able to travel, domestically and internationally.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering discipline with 8 – 10 years in a gas engine engineering role or 15 years of equivalent experience.
