Applications Engineer I - INFICON

As an Application Engineer with a deep understanding of HVAC tools and equipment, you will play a pivotal role in our customer support and service initiatives. Your primary responsibility is a key interface between our customers and our customer service, sales, and marketing to help to ensure customer satisfaction and success. You will be responsible for conducting technical training, product presentations, and internal training.  The ideal candidate will be located in the Syracuse NY area. This position has the option of a Hybrid work model- with close proximity to INFICON's home office in E. Syracuse, NY.

• Act as technical support for sales team and customer service
• Troubleshoot critical product performance challenges
• Work with applications and marketing teams to develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for customers and internal sales teams on the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Service Tools 
• Act as a technical consultant and advise engineering or customers on application Best Know Methods
• Interact cross-functionally with local sales & support teams, factory engineering and product management to ensure alignment with customer needs
• Write application bulletins and technical articles to be published in conjunction with the Corporate Communications Department 
• Collaborate with the product development team to provide customer feedback and insights to enhance our products and services

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or hard sciences 
• 1 or more years of experience in the area of commercial HVAC/R systems, equipment engineering, advanced refrigeration, or relevant field
• Ability and drive to develop a strong understanding of customer applications and have the ability to think outside the box
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for making data-driven decisions.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting ideas, collaborating with teams, and engaging with stakeholders
• Adaptable and comfortable working with various personality types
• Looking for direct customer interaction that requires global travel (up to 15%)

For New York, the expected salary range for this position is between $60,000 and $90,000 annually. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.
