ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- The Applications Engineer provides support to the Applications department. The direct responsibility will be working closely with the customers on product application, particularly on problem solving, applications formulation and product recommendation. Working in close collaboration with the Sales Team to address the needs of customers and identify their future needs, offering an added value to the company’s products and services will be of importance, to ensure customer retention and attract potential customers.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides technical support to potential new and existing customers in Ceramic Shell and Solid Mold markets globally. Technical support may be onsite or remote.
- Works in conjunction with the Sales Team to secure and conduct product trials to secure new accounts
- Works with the Applications team to set up projects to develop data/solutions for specific customer problems as well as projects designed to benchmark customer’s existing shell systems against R&R alternative(s).
- Participate, attend ands present at industry trade shows, forums or other events as needed.
- General Office work including: Organizes trips/tickets and other travel logistics. Documentation of trial and visit results. Follow up with customers and R&R associates with proper reports and information. Completes expense reports.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or related field is required. Should have knowledge, or experience on chemistry, ceramics materials, general foundry and investment casting. Must have proven relevant experience of two or more years in the same field. Must have strong customer relations skills to attract customers. Have excellent communications skills, both verbal and written. Should possess the ability to manage multiple deadlines with a high level of accuracy. With a positive attitude, high level of accountability, personal drive, ambition, and integrity.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Individual’s daily routine will consist mostly of technical work with exposure to the production and laboratory environment, which may have some abnormal variations in temperature, unavoidable fumes, noise, and atmospheric conditions. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment, including a respirator, must be worn in designated areas
- Individual will be required to travel and visit customers as needed
- Individual must possess the ability to perform light physical activity, which includes occasionally lifting up to 55 lbs., standing, walking up the stairs, sitting, manual dexterity, repetitive hand, and finger motion.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Typical office environment, mostly indoor office environment with windows, offices with equipment noise, offices with frequent interruptions. The department atmosphere is quiet, friendly and collaborative but hardworking.
