Appraisal Review Officer - Customers Bank

Customers Bank has an immediate opening for a Review Appraiser in our Credit Department. As the Review Appraiser, you assume the responsibility of ensuring that Customers Bank is in receipt of credible regulatory and policy compliant third-party reports regarding real property taken as collateral.

• Review submitted Real Estate Appraisal Reports to ensure their credibility with USPAP compliance, conformity to bank engagement letters, bank policy and Interagency Guidelines.
• Mediate and resolve issues between the Loan Production Teams and valuation vendors to maintain independence and impartiality in the collateral evaluation process.
• Provide support to the bank’s Credit Officers and Analysts regarding any aspects of the presentation and conclusions within submitted third party reports
• Assist the Team Manager and Coordinator in ensuring that the appropriate reports with suitable content are being ordered and delivered in a timely manner.
• Work with the Loan Documentation team post-review to guarantee all necessary documents generated by the appraisal team are available for a loan closing.
• Contribute by maintaining approved vendor lists to ensure that the best firms are selected to provide third-party reports to Customers Bank and that all certifications and insurance declarations on file for vendors are current.
• Review environmental due diligence reports to evaluate and provide advisement to the Loan Production Teams regarding possible short and long-term risks that need to be addressed.
• Generate and populate in-house logging forms, reports and studies.

• Must be an experienced Certified General Real Estate Appraiser with a background valuing a wide variety of property types and rights.
• Strong understanding of the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and the Federal Interagency Appraisal Guidelines (FIRREA).
• Superior written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to analyze complex valuation presentations including discounted cash flows.
• Ability to quickly learn new programs and software.  Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite is a must.
• Willingness to accept new tasks and work necessary hours to meet all situations as they arise.
• Proactive individual who has excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently and efficiently.
• Capacity to prioritize work during busy periods to maximize efficiency.
• Bachelor's degree or higher.
• Prior experience at a financial institution is a plus.
