Job DescriptionESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Administer and develop the Bekum America Standards of Apprenticeship program in partnership with Lansing Community College and in accordance with Department of Labor guidelines.
- Collaborate with the Apprenticeship Committee to select candidates, develop curriculum, and coordinate with mentors to ensure timely training and skills development for apprentices.
- Create and implement lesson plans, hands-on projects, and processes based on the approved standardized curriculum, while organizing and documenting activities.
- Monitor and support apprentice progress through regular meetings with apprentices and mentors, providing feedback and individual support as needed.
- Participate in apprentice recruiting events and Lansing Community College advisory board to cultivate the talent pipeline for the apprenticeship program.
- Maintain an organized and clean classroom environment, demonstrating flexibility to adapt to changing conditions.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate's degree or equivalent from an accredited two-year college or technical school.
- Experience: 5-7 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Technical Proficiency: Understanding of Department of Labor guidelines and apprenticeship program standards.
- Instructional Skills: Ability to develop curriculum, create lesson plans, and implement hands-on projects.
- Communication & Leadership: Excellent verbal and written skills; ability to guide and support apprentices.
- Organizational Skills: Strong ability to maintain records, organize activities, and manage multiple priorities.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to thrive in a dynamic educational environment.
