Apprentice Operator – Active Skill Level 1
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Apprentice Operator -Active (AO-A) shall perform 24/7 operational support to the government by tasks required to search, detect, identify, intercept, and locate signals of interest using the most appropriate sensor and active geolocation technique available.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two (2) years of operational experience, within the last five (5) years with NSA, a Service Cryptologic Element, or another government intelligence agency (as a government employee or as a contractor) in the following: MINIMALLY ACCEPTABLE: Experience conducting RF collection and/or Direction Finding operations.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certification in active geolocation techniques via training programs conducted by NSA, a service component, or another US Government Agency to include the technologies below is highly desired: a. Global System Mobile (GSM) b. Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) c. CDMA 2000 Evolution - Data Only (EVDO) d. Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers standard 802.11 Wireless Fidelity (WiFi) e. Universal Mobile Telecommunications Systems (UMTS)
- The following certifications are highly desired: a. NSAG Geolocation Qualification Course b. SCE Collection Operator Certification c. USAF Tactical Support Operator (TSO) Certification
- Successful completion of the initial Active certification program is required upon initial assignment for continued retention.
