Primary Purpose:
Responsible for waste stream approvals into Heritage facilities. Evaluates waste stream approvals for acceptability based on customer's needs, Heritage policies, facility regulatory and permit requirements, facility capabilities, profitability, and safety to employees and the environment. Must keep current with regulations and individual facility permit requirements. Must have full understanding of the quotation, waste stream, billing, and online systems.
Essential Functions and Requirements:
- Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and always acting in a safe manner.
- Support internal positions to build and maintain relationships with customers.
- Help mentor Technical Customer Coordinator positions.
- Technical resource for company.
- Maintain IC pricing.
- Manage conditional approvals.
- High hazard review calls with generators.
- Assign PPE.
- Enforce materials are managed within limits of permits, operations, business rules.
- Maintain DEA program.
- Review profiles for compliance with WAP and acceptability into internal facilities.
- Coordinate with plant operations.
- Coordinate with plant and corporate safety and compliance.
- Seek 3rd party outlets for materials that cannot be internalized.
- Set up 3rd party approvals.
- Coordinate with supply chain and corporate compliance.
- Special projects as assigned.
- Understand when to elevate issues.
- Enter issues into Intelex.
- Participates in monthly safety training topics.
- Meet company safety observation goals.

Education: 4 Year Degree required.
Experience: If Internal, minimum of 2.5 years of Heritage Experience from a Customer Service or Technical Role, as evidenced by a score of 3 or greater on previous evaluation. If External, A minimum of 5 years of Customer Service or Technical role experience in an office setting is required. Experience in a Hazardous Waste or Environmental field is preferred.
Knowledge and Abilities: This is a safety sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function. Must have a basic understanding of hazardous waste regulations, a basic understanding of DOT hazardous materials regulations, and/or a strong understanding of Heritage operational capabilities. Must possess basic computer skills in Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Experience in MMS preferred. Strong working knowledge of Chemistry. Must have strong interpersonal, organizational, and communications (verbal and written) skills. Must have strong decision-making skills. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.
