The Position
Under the direction of the Director of Aquatics the Aquatics Program Coordinator
is responsible for the management, development and implementation of Aquatics programming including, but not limited to, Aquatics Camps, Group Fitness, Recreational Programming, and assistance with Instructional Swim. This position also assists with the management and maintenance of the aquatics facility. The Aquatics Program Coordinator l must maintain high personal standards, adhere to, and carry out the mission of Greater Midland Community Center.
Major Job Responsibilities
? Assist in the development, management and maintenance of department budget.
? Practice exceptional communication and absolute clarity with participants and staff.
? Work a nontraditional schedule including evenings and weekends as needed.
? Schedule staff to ensure both safety and quality in camp, drop-in hours, and recreational/instructional aquatic programs.
? Assist in the hiring, training and ongoing management of Lifeguards, Instructors and Counselors.
? Ensure aquatic facilities are safe and clean ensuring appropriate sanitizing, assist with regular chemical checks, and help troubleshoot pool issues.
? Ensure all supplies are secured for each program session and camps.
? Promote and monitor all program utilization levels to ensure each is meeting goals to maximize participation.
? Work collaboratively with Marketing and Communications on the development of promotional materials and communications.
? Assist in the planning and execution of recreational/instructional swim programs annually.
? Continuously support the growth, quality and execution of instructional and recreational aquatics programs.
? Work cooperatively and professionally with all program participants, parents, staff and volunteers.
? Ensure the safety of staff, participants and members through continuous training, development, certification compliance, and following all safety policies and procedures.
? Ensure results-driven programming with attention to strong engagement and developmentally appropriate lesson plans.

Qualifications
? Minimum 2 years' experience preferred in aquatics, recreation, athletics or related field.
? Minimum Associates Degree preferred.
? Strong computer, software and organizational skills required.
? Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
? Red Cross LG certification preferred; ability to acquire a Red Cross LG certification within 2-weeks of hire date.
? Red Cross LGI certification preferred; ability to acquire a Red Cross LGI certification within 90 days of hire date.
? CPO certification preferred; ability to acquire a CPO certification within 90 days of hire date.
? Excellent interpersonal skills required.
Physical Requirements
Office is located in Greater Midland Community Center. Regular communication and contact with employees and members. Repetitive keyboard activity and sitting at computer workstation; bending and stopping for paperwork filing and maintenance.
