The YMCA of Northern Colorado is seeking a Program Director for Aquatics at the YMCA who can help us continue our life-changing, life-saving aquatics programs. We need an organized problem-solver and leader who cares deeply about water safety, staff management, programming and customer service.
Our ideal candidate can help develop and lead a team through inspiration, coaching and clearly communicated expectations. He or she has a strong work ethic and healthy work-life balance. Our future Aquatics Program Director will be committed to all aspects of the position: working within the annual budget; helping to develop and supervise a strong Lifeguard and Swim Instructor Staff Team; and assist with related branch programming including a competitive swim team league while providing excellent customer service to members and participants.
Salary: 55,000/yr. This position is year-round, full-time exempt.

Responsibilities:- Directs and supervises branch aquatic program activities
- Manages staff, volunteers and budget for aquatics at the branch
- Reviews and evaluates staff performance
- Ensures records of staff certifications are current and complete
- Monitors daily pool operations to adhere to all state, local and YMCA health and safety regulations
- Conducts and ensures proper maintenance of pools. Secures and schedules pool facilities. Maintains accurate records of pool chemical levels and maintenance
- Conducts lifeguarding, swim instruction, First Aid and CPR trainings
- Assists in YMCA fund raising activities and special events
- Other duties as assigned
- Minimum age of 21
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent
- One to two years related experience preferred
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
- Bilingual-English and Spanish- preferred
- Required certifications CPR. First Aid. Lifeguard, AED and O2
- Prior experience as Swim Lesson Instructor
- Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include completion of: Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff; Working with Program Volunteers; Bloodborne Pathogens
- Required within 60 days: Lifeguard Instructor certification and Certified Pool Operator
