ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Reliable and punctual attendance is essential; expected to be at job as scheduled each scheduled day.
• Communicate necessary information to others as appropriate, support and research information to be offered for education to all self-pay specialist.
• understanding of procedures & techniques with expert awareness of collection (strong knowledge of collection) guidelines.
• Train other Collections specialist in the understanding of procedures & techniques with expert awareness (has thorough know of collections) of collection guidelines.
• Basic knowledge in the utilization of the software & electronic references to perform self-pay related tasks.
• Create and distribute daily call list for self-pay specialist.
• Hard case point person, participate in conflict resolutions with patients pertaining to self-pay.
• Create and maintain Best Practice Operating Procedures for - accounts as directed by the Manager of Business Office Manager.
• Create and maintain tracking mechanisms for self-pay payment plans as directed by the Director of Patient Financial Services.
• Have basic? knowledge related to multiple HER systems as it pertains to your daily AR
• Review and follow up with all self-pay balances from 0-60 days of self-pay balance and
• set up “formal” payment plans, or collect balance. Payment plans will be either Auto payments or call in method monthly by patient or on line.
• Review all self-pay in ques within 30 days. 75 accounts per day.
• Will ensure calls are made within regulated business hours as determined by supervisor,
• e. calls cannot be made before 8am or after 8pm Monday through Saturday. No calls on Sundays.
• Between 60-90 days and 2nd attempt at contact, allow normal process and then send to
• collections per policy
• Provide customer service to include telephone support for patients with self-pay
• balance questions.
• Ensure auto payment via credit cards have been processed and will verify patient is
• making payments according to their payment plan (follow the FHW collection policies and guidelines.
• Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure efficient practices.
• Follow all standard operating procedures.
• Use of Excel and reporting tools (has good understanding of excel tools).
• Communicate with understanding, patience, respectfulness, and kindness to help to promote a positive atmosphere.

EDUCATION:

• Education: High School education required or equivalent.
• Licenses: No professional license required.
• Certifications: No Certifications required
• Experience: Two years of Self Pay Receivable preferred.

WAGE RANGE: The wage for this position starts at $18.37 and goes up based on experience.
