Planet Interactive's luxury retail client is seeking a Senior Architectural Design Specialist with 5+ years of store design and architectural design experience for a direct-hire position starting in November 2024!
Senior Architectural Design Specialist Responsibilities:
- Applying and adapting organizations Global Store Design Concepts to the US market, ensures that store designs align with organization's brand concept and deliver an elevated client experience and upholding our brands reputation of excellence.
- Consistently meeting and achieving established design KPIs and deadlines, ensures that design propositions achieve envisioned quality while aligning with project deadlines.
- Manage assigned projects autonomously and demonstrating strong project management capabilities ensures that complex design challenges result in uniquely innovative solutions.
- Ensures the meaningful communication of design intent to ensure the successful production of concept sketches, presentation drawings, technical drawings and specification.
- Through the creation of schematic 3D images ensures project validation by our Global design team as well as internal and external project stakeholders.
- Ensures optimized store environments through the ability to analyze the project design brief, evaluate the business needs and specificities.
- Exhibiting proven acumen in developing detailed design and presentation packages including plans, sections, elevations and details, and by participating in construction administration of projects (including reviewing submittals, finish samples, and shop drawings approvals) ensures that an in-depth understanding of design development results in beautiful stores.
- Demonstrates diplomacy and flexibility when managing concurrent projects at various stages of development and complexity as well as by leveraging industry knowledge and expertise, ensures that the quality of concepts, millwork, and façade detailing is enhanced.
- Through proactive, organized and detail-oriented planning ensures that Department platforms and reporting tools are maintained accurately and in a timely way to support project success and clear communication.
- Ensures that vendor partners (specifically millworkers and architectural suppliers) are managed well.
- Accredited degree in Architecture or Interior Design
- Exceptional hand sketching and design detailing abilities are preferred.
- Expert in Rhino, Revit, AutoCAD and Photoshop
- Previous experience working within an in-house retail design/brand studio or as a store designer
- Ability to conceptualize spatial designs and architectural brand imaging
- Adeptness to communicate effectively with architects, suppliers, shop fitters, and stakeholders
- Experience with resource management platforms like Airtable or Mondays a plus
- Knowledge of materials, construction techniques, and building codes
- In-depth understanding of the design process with a proven ability to create compelling propositions
- Outstanding conceptual 3-dimensional thinking and graphic presentation skills to effectively communicate design ideas
