Position Profile:
The Architectural Production Manager will provide comprehensive architectural support to the Corporate Shared Services Team serving both the Ashton Woods and Starlight Homes Divisional Units. This position will work with AutoCAD & Revit systems to modify, maintain & create residential construction documents. They will be directly involved with the coordinating and QC review of the work from our internal and outsource drafting resources.
Duties and Responsibilities: (Included but not limited to)
- Responsible for the production workflow of multiple drawings and projects at the same time from various Divisions.
- Responsible for reviewing projects and creating dwf redlines for various projects.
- Responsible for the creating & coordination of single-family lot starts & multi-family bldg. assemblies as needed for permits for all Divisions.
- Responsible for managing the workflow from outside consultants back to Corporate in an on-time and accurate manner.
- Responsible for communication of project level details with their division level peers, while managing the overall project scope, budget and timetable.
- Responsible for maintaining construction documents, plan revisions as well as creating new products (DD/CDs).
- Assist in Quality Control review process of outsource product development for all phases of production.
- Review and correct plans as needed for Problem Area Reports (PARs).
- Self-check own work for completeness, accuracy and meeting company standards.
- Work with conceptual sketches and scanned images from design team.
- Must be self-motivated and able to manage workflow for the week by oneself.
Desired Candidate Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience (3-5yrs)
- Must be detailed oriented and experienced with working in a challenging, fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
- Proficient in AutoCAD & Revit with good knowledge of residential construction.
- Ability to work with limited supervision, timely completion of projects, makes time for unplanned assignments, adapts to changing priorities.
- Respects all members; solicits other’s opinions; supports and complies with team decisions; share useful information.
- Ability to adapt in a changing workplace and work with limited supervision.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- 4-6 years of experience in residential architectural production required.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Proficient in AutoCAD & Revit with expert knowledge of residential construction.
- Knowledgeable about the construction industry, including construction cost, building codes, materials, products, methods and procedures.
- Ability to read blueprints, construction drawings and addendums as required.
- Must be able to use word processing, e-mail, spreadsheets, presentation (PowerPoint), database and newsletter (Adobe) software for advanced internal and external communications.
- Ability to review, analyze and interpret information as well as trouble-shoot to solve problems.
- Knowledge of business English and ability to communicate patiently and professionally with both internal and external customers both orally and in writing.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize several tasks without compromising quality of work or mission deadlines.
- Ability to adapt in a changing workplace.
- Computer literacy, proficiency with Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point and ability to learn new programs as needed.
- Proven organizational skills in a high paced work environment.
Typical Physical and Mental Demands:
- Must be able to read, write, and speak fluently in English.
- Must be able to perform advanced math calculations.
- Employees in this position are required to be able to hear and have vision sufficient to utilize all office equipment.
- Use of hands and fingers is required to utilize standard office equipment.
