Ethicon is seeking an Area Director for its U.S Commercial organization, directly supporting the field selling organization. The Area Director will play a key role in shaping strategy and ensuring commercial execution across the field organization. This role will cover 12 geographic US States, preferred location(s) - Denver, CO; Kansas City, MO; and Minneapolis, MN.

Key Responsibilities:
- Primarily responsible for partnering with the Area Vice President in developing and driving Area Strategy and Operations
- Lead and mobilize Regional Sales Specialist (RSS) team to support new product launches, system conversions and ensure representative clinical competency
- Lead and mobilize Strategic System Lead (SSL) team to support growth initiatives at key accounts, to include Academic Health Systems (AHS)
- Lead the execution and oversight for all Area analytics-related activity
- Lead and facilitate the execution of contracting initiatives for both Contract Support Manager (CSM) aligned accounts and support of other major cross-Area system initiatives
- Coordinate and align with AVP on all sales execution expectations and results
- Coordinate all area operational support to include liaison activities for GES (Professional & Commercial Education), Commercial Operations, and Communications
- Serve as Area Lead for developing and implementing sales support for strategic enterprise initiatives, to include new product introductinos
- Serve as Interim AVP as needed with both customers and employees
- Align with all applicable laws and regulations relating to MD's business activities and Policies and Procedures of the Health Care Compliance Program and Johnson and Johnson Business Code of Conduct
- BA/BS degree; Business/Marketing/Finance/Clinical.
- A minimum of 10 plus years of relevant healthcare experience
- 3 years of people management experience
- 3 years of sales experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to function independently as well as part of a team
- The ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environment
- MBA, advanced degree
- 3 years of cross-functional experience (marketing, commercial operations, sales training, professional education)
- Strong Business & Financial Competence in understanding the needs and priorities of the broader business with a penchant for understanding the use of metrics/numbers to gauge overall performance
- Deep expertise in data analytics with ability to transcribe to fact-based decisions
- Demonstrated leadership capability including the ability to lead and manage through change and strong alignment to leadership imperatives: Our Credo & Purpose, Connect, Shape, and Grow
- Ability to work within a dynamic environment and demonstrate an enterprise mentality as it relates to decision making
- Deep understanding of customer's strategic priorities at all levels and develop solutions to meet long and short-term needs within the area
- Demonstrated leadership in strategic planning and project management, including ability to manage multiple priorities
- Stakeholder engagement: which includes communicating, influencing, and providing comprehensive solutions
- Potential candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have an expertise in sales force effectiveness tools
- Travel (approximately 25 - 40% domestic travel only)
