Purpose of Role
Condair is seeking an Area Manager who can join our team and help shape the future of our organization. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership skills and love working in a fast-paced environment. We are seeking someone who can learn our products and be able to lead a team.
You will be responsible for managing assigned production floor areas to ensure proper quantities of quality products, at or below budgeted production costs, are manufactured in order to meet marketplace demand. The Area Manager will be required to manage/coordinate broad processes across different departments and functional teams. This role will maintain the company culture, values and strategies by leading her/his team in change efforts, continuous improvement initiatives, safety awareness, and fostering team and individual development. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager.
Requirements, Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for maintaining a safe and secure work environment. This includes educating employees on hazard identification, correcting unsafe acts/conditions, facilitating safety meetings, performing safety inspections, investigating incidents, and driving corrective actions to completion.
Manages all aspects of personnel performance within the department
Ensures that job expectations, duties, responsibilities, authority, and accountability of all direct subordinates are defined and understood
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and applicable laws including staffing, training, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, investigating issues, and resolving problems
Creates and implements plans to address skills gaps and provide training and development for direct reports to address department, individual, and business needs
Handles sensitive and proprietary information in a confidential manner
Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, accomplishing work results, and reporting results on shift production summaries
Responsible for managing quality production and charged with collaborating with others to drive product related quality issues to resolution
Encourages and promotes a plant culture of Continuous Improvement and Employee Involvement
Fosters a spirit of cooperation within and between departments
Leads continuous improvement activities, including 5S, visual workplace, cost and waste reductions
Enforces company systems, standards, policies, and procedures
Professional Skills, Qualifications, and Competencies:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or similar Minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing leadership role. Preferred experience managing 50+ FTEs
Experience in Lead Implementation, team building, quality control and assurance
Language Skills:
Possess excellent oral and written communication skills in English with ability to advocate for and present recommendations to senior leadership
Reasoning Ability:
Be able to function in a fast-paced office, manufacturing, and warehouse environment in a professional manner
General understanding of manufacturing business principles and typical business practices
Proven strong organizational (prioritization and time management), problem-solving, and analytical skills
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work cross-functionally with other departments
Computer Skills:
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Project
Knowledge of MaintainX or similar is a plus
Other:
Demonstrated leadership, drive, and potential to assume higher levels of responsibility
Accomplished in meeting production schedules, controlling, and improving production efficiency
Ability to work additional hours as required in support of a project assignment
